Overview
A workspace for notes, tasks and plans. Text first: type, then add structure when you need it.
Collections turn pages into databases
Panels put two pages side by side
Works offline, syncs when you are back
W
Hierarchical thinking
Ideas rarely arrive as a flat list. Indent a line and it belongs to the one above it; fold the detail away once you are done with it.
Outlines are how we think, long before they are how we write.
#essay
Editing Thoughts
Writing is mostly editing. The editor should get out of the way: no modes, no blocks, a caret that moves the way you think.
Selections should feel like text, not like boxes.
A
Ejectable Software
Desktop software was great for data ownership and longevity: copy the program and its files to another machine and keep working, years later.
Modern apps trade that for sync and collaboration. We want both.
#essay
Just edit text
Formatting should never slow you down.
Type - [ ] and the line is a task
@friday gives it a date
#tag files it with the others

Evolution of .plan
In the nineties a developer kept a .plan file: a few lines on what they were working on, readable by anyone who cared to look.
The Plan page is that file, with checkboxes.
