Offline and sync

Thymer keeps a copy of each workspace on every device you sign in on. Reading, writing, searching and rearranging all work without a connection. When you are back online, changes sync to the server (end-to-end encrypted) in the background and on to your team, and incoming changes merge with what you did while offline.

Before you go offline

A new device needs a connection to sign in and download the workspace the first time. While you’re online, let it finish syncing, so everything you might want offline is on the device. When the connection drops, Thymer carries on offline by itself. Attachments (files and images) download in the background while you’re online, but larger ones only download when you first open them, so open those at least once on the device if you need them offline.

What needs a connection

You can keep using Thymer while you’re offline, and your changes sync when you reconnect. A few things need a connection: signing in on a new device, inviting or removing people, changing your password, changing account settings such as the workspace name or your display name, viewing version history, and downloading a full export (including version history).
