Version history and Trash

Version history

Version History… in the page menu lists earlier versions of a page. Pick one to read it, with a label showing which version you are looking at. Copy the text you want back and paste it into the current page: that way you keep the good changes made since.

Collections have version history too. Open a collection and choose Version History… in the same menu, and the view you are on shows the collection as it was at each version. Step through the versions on a board and watch the cards fly back and forth between columns as their status changed! It works in every view of every collection except the Journal.

History comes from the server, so it needs a connection. For something you just did, ⌘ZCtrl+Z to Undo is quicker.

Trash

Move to Trash removes a page from every view. Open Trash to find it and Restore from Trash to bring it back. A trashed collection is restored with Restore Collection from Trash in its settings, and Settings → Plugins shows trashed plugins.

In a Markdown Mirror, a trashed page’s file moves to trashed/, and deleting a file trashes its page. Restore the page in Thymer; re-creating the file doesn’t bring the original back.

When it isn’t in Trash

A missing page is usually filtered, folded or in another workspace. Search for its title or a phrase from it, check the view’s filter, and check which workspace you are in. A pinned item that was unpinned is still a page.

Rewinding a workspace

When the entire workspace needs to be completely restored to a previous point in time for some reason, an account owner can rewind the whole workspace by a number of minutes. It affects everyone in the workspace, so read Rewinding a workspace first.
